
Ingredients
- sushi rice
- Obento rice wine vinegar
- Obento Yaki nori
- Prawn, Salmon, Cucumber, Egg
Method
- Wash 1 cup of sushi rice until water runs clear. Bring to boil with 1.5 cups of cold water. Cover and simmer on lowest heat for 15 mins then rest covered for 5 mins.
- Turn into glass bowl and add 2-3 tablespns of Obento rice wine vinegar that has been mixed with 1 tlbsp of sugar and 1/2 tsp salt. Fan and turn rice with a chopping motion trying not to mash or break the rice grains.
- When cool enought to handle and using a bamboo mat spread rice on Obento yaki nori sheets and follow instructions on pkt. to create sushi rolls.
- With damp hands form rice into balls, spread a little wasabi on the top and place trimmed salmon or prawns.
- Make Japanese omelette, roll and slice thinnly to place on top of rice. Wrap with a ribbon of yaki hori.
