- Obento Yalu Nori
- Obento Sushi seasoning
- Obento soy sauce
- Kewpie mayonnaise
- Lee kum kee gluten free soy sauce
- Obento pickled ginger
- Lee kum kee chicken marinade
Method
- Cook rice in rice cooker (wash rice in cold running water till water runs clear)
- Fan cooked rice to cool it. sprinkle with sushi seasoning & fold through the rice. Taste to make sure of flavour.
- Prepare your choice of filling. Including sliced cucumber, avocado, omelette. Options may include tuna mixed with kewpie mayo, cooked prawns, salmon or teriyaki chicken or just vegetarian
- Lay out Yaki nori on bamboo mat (shiny side down). Put a layer of rice on 1/3 of the Nori sheet. Working with damp hands stops the rice from sticking.
- Drizzle kewpie mayo along the rice. Then layer in your choice of filling.
- Roll the mat - keeping the ingredients tucked in. When almost fully rolled dip your finger in water & run along the edge of the nori to seal
- Being organized with the ingredients increases your speed. I like to have multiple mats lined up
- Serve with pickled ginger, wasabi & soy sauce ( gluten free soy if required)
