Ingredients
- Obento Yaki Nori for Sushi (5 sheets)
- 3 Tbsp Obento Sushi Seasoning
- 3 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 whole carrot cut into matchsticks
- 100g Red Capsicum cut into thin strips
- 3 Tbsp Kewpie Mayonnaise
- 1 Cup (uncooked) Sun Rice Sushi Rice
- 2 Small (95g) Tins Smoked tuna (drained)
Method
- Chop veggies into strips and toast sesame seeds (I use griller to toast mine.) Set fillings aside.
- Wash uncooked rice under cold water. Add uncooked rice to saucepan with 2 cups cold water and bring to boil, stirring often, and continue to monitor closely until all water has been absorbed by rice.
- Once rice is cooked place in bowl and allow to cool. Stir through sushi seasoning.
- Place one sheet of nori seaweed onto bamboo mat at a time. Put thin layer of rice on 3/4 of sheet allowing strip of uncovered seaweed to be visible at edge furthest away from you. Squirt generous amount of kewpie mayonnaise onto rice and spread evenly. Sprinkle sesame seeds across rice. Add carrots, then capsicum and finally smoked tuna in single line down edge of sheet closest to you.
- Lift edge of bamboo mat closest to you, lifting up edge of sushi roll and start rolling it away from you trying to maintain tight, even pressure to avoid it falling apart when you have finished. When you get to the free edge add some water with your fingers to the seaweed to help it seal shut.
- Slice to desired size with sharp knife and can serve with soy sauce or more sesame as desired!
