
Ingredients
- 500g lean mince beef
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 8 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 2 shallots (finely chopped)
- 1 Spring onion (for garnish)
- 2 Birds Eye chillies (finely chopped)
- 1 1/2 tbsp of soy sauce
- 1 tbsp of oyster sauce
- 1/2 tbsp of fish sauce
- 1/2 tbsp of brown sugar
- 1 large handful of Thai basil (the more the better)
- 1 egg
- 250g White jasmine rice
Method
- Finely chop shallots, garlic and chilli then add oil to a wok/pan and fry for 2-3 minutes on hot
- Add in lean beef and cook until brown (3-4 minutes)
- Add soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar. Then mix and cook for 3-4 minutes
- Add in the Thai basil and mix the leaves throughout
- Fry an egg then serve it on top of a bed of white rice next to your pad kra pao.
- Garnish with chopped spring onion.
