
Ingredients
- Prepared Sushi Rice
- Carrot
- Cucumber
- Yaki Nori for sushi
Method
- Cook sushi rice and cool rice on a tray
- Place Yaki nori shiny side down on a sushi mat
- Spread cooled sushi rice evenly over the Yaki Nori sheet, leaving 2 cm at the top of the sheet free from rice
- Place strips of carrot and cucumber horizontally along the rice
- Lift the side of the bamboo mat closest to you and begin to roll tightly. Before reaching the end of the seaweed sheet, wet the top of the sheet that doesn’t have any rice. Apply gentle pressure to join the top of the Yaki nori to the main roll.
- Either cut with a wet knife into halves or quarters or eat whole. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi and/or thin sliced cucumber and carrot
