
Ingredients
- Tofu (firm)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup Obento panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp white pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- ABC Sweet Soy Sauce
- Soy Sauce (light)
- Sesame Oil
- 1/4 cup chopped spring onions
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Method
- Drain tofu, place on paper towels underneath and on top and place something like a plate to weigh it down. Leave for 5 minutes to drain the excess moisture.
- Mix rice flour, Obento panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
- Unwrap the tofu and cut in half through the centre and into squares. Pour a small amount of soy sauce on each square. Ensure all sides are covered. Make sure to not add too much.
- Place tofu pieces directly into the flour mixture and coat all over. Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu for 2-3 minutes until both sides are golden and crunchy.
- Transfer tofu onto a paper towel lined plate to drain excess oil.
- On a separate plate, drizzle the ABC sweet soy sauce in a zig zag pattern. Pour 1/8 tsp of the sesame oil onto a spoon and dot the plate.
- Place the tofu directly onto the sauce on the plate. Drizzle a little more ABC sweet soy sauce on the top and add chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
