Lunar New Year (or Chinese New Year) is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. The celebrations traditionally run from the first day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar to the 15th day of the first calendar month. As the festival is also celebrated in Korea and other Southeast Asian countries, we are calling it the Lunar New Year festival.

In 2026, the Lunar New Year will be celebrated on February 17th, which is the first day of the Lunar calendar. According to Chinese astrology, each year is associated with an animal sign from a 12-year Chinese Zodiac cycle. The year 2026 will be represented by the Horse, which occupies the seventh position in the 12-year cycle. Those who are born in the year of the Horse are believed to be more energetic, responsible, independent, and intelligent.

Cook Snap Win is Asian Inspirations' annual cooking contest where participants cook up delicious Asian dishes under one of the 5 themes: The 10 Iconic Asian Ingredients, Fast & Fab, Meat-Free Marvels, One Bowl Wonder, Soul Spicy, using participating brand’s products.

Each year, two lucky Grand Prize winners embark on an unforgettable culinary journey overseas. For Cook Snap Win 2026, the destination is Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Yes, you have to be an Australian resident and aged 18 years or over with a registered email address to enter the contest.

There are five (5) cooking themes running concurrently during the whole duration of Cook Snap Win 2026. Cook up an Asian-inspired dish and select a cooking theme that best matches your dish when submitting your recipe on cooksnapwin.com.au.

Here are the details of each cooking theme:

We are introducing a special new theme The 10 Iconic Asian Ingredients to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Cook Snap Win. Whip up your best recipe using at least 3 of 10 Iconic Asian Ingredients and be part of the celebration. The 10 Iconic Asian Ingredients are as listed: coconut milk, tofu, miso, yuzu, kimchi, Sichuan peppercorn, kaffir lime leaves, nori, shiitake mushroom and bonito flakes.

We are also delighted to announce a modification in the destination for the Grand Prize culinary trips! Our judges will determine the two (2) best valid entries to win a 6-day, 5-night culinary trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Yes, you must purchase at least one (1) product from any participating brand in a single transaction from any leading supermarkets and Asian grocery stores during the promotional period.

To enter the contest, you will have to buy at least one (1) of any products from the following participating brands: Lee Kum Kee, ABC, Squid Brand, Valcom, Kewpie, Obento, Obap, S&B and Hakubaku in a single purchase/receipt. It is essential to retain your original purchase receipt(s) as evidence of your purchase, and the purchased product must be used in the dish you submit for the Cook Snap Win 2026 contest.

You can find these participating products in any leading supermarkets and Asian grocery stores.

You can enter the contest as many times as you like. Multiple entries are allowed, however, they are subject to the following conditions:

• Only one (1) entry is permitted per qualifying purchase/receipt
• Each dish submitted must be different from the other
• Each dish must not be submitted to multiple cooking themes (The 10 Iconic Asian Ingredients, Fast & Fab, Meat-Free Marvels, One Bowl Wonder, Soul Spicy)
• Each entry must be submitted separately; each in compliance with the entry requirements

Including a Cook Snap Win 2026 participating product in your dish shot will help the judges determine that your entry used a participating product in the cook-up. Entries without a visible participating product will be disqualified. For full details, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.

For Cook Snap Win 2026, the following winners will be selected: There will be two (2) Grand Prize winners, Twenty-two (22) cooking theme winners (ten (10) for the new theme The 10 Iconic Asian Ingredients, and three (3) for each of the following cooking themes Fast & Fab, Meat-free Marvel, One-bowl Wonder, and Soul Spicy), five (5) Asian Inspirations' Choice winners (one (1) for each cooking theme), five (5) Wok of Fame winners and ten (10) Early Bird winners.

All winners will be notified by email, and their names will be published on the Cook Snap Win website, Asian Inspirations Facebook page, and Asian Inspirations Instagram. All winners will be announced after the contest ends. For full details, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.

No, entries cannot be edited once submitted. In extreme cases, if you need to correct an entry, please submit a new entry, then email us at hello@asianinspirations.com.au to request the removal of the earlier submission containing errors.

The Grand Prize winners' entry will be judged on the appeal to senses - authenticity in taste and smell, creativity in presentation/plating, originality of the photograph/dish provided and the clarity of the written recipe.
