Ingredients
- Pork mince
- 1 can of Valcom Sliced Water Chestnuts
- 6 cloves of fresh Garlic
- A small nob of fresh Ginger
- 2 tablespoons of Sesame Oil
- 1 egg
- A pinch of Salt
- A pinch of Pepper
- 2 tablespoons of Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoons of Chinese cooking wine
- 2 packets of Wonton wrappers
- 1 bunch of Choy Sum
- Chilli oil
Method
- Roughly chop Valcom water chestnuts into small chunks. Do the same to the fresh garlic and ginger.
- To a large mixing bowl, add the chopped water chestnuts, garlic, ginger, pork mince, egg, soy sauce, Chinese rice wine, sesame oil, salt, pepper and use clean hands to mix and combined the ingredients together.
- Add 1 teaspoon of the combined ingredients to a wonton wrapper. Dip your finger in clean water and run it along the edge of the wrapper to fold and seal the ingredients inside. Fold and squeeze the edges together to make the dumpling shape.
- Repeat step 3 until you have used all the combined ingredients, creating approximately 50 dumplings. Placing each on a tray as you go.
- Boil a large pot of water and add as many dumpling as you want to eat (usually 8 per person) and boil for 9 minutes before adding the choy sum to the pot to boil for a further 3 minutes.
- Strain and serve in one bowl. Drizzle chilli oil and soy sauce as desired.
- Freeze remaining dumplings on the tray before placing them in a freezer bag. Ready to enjoy another time.
