
Ingredients
- For the Tofu
- 400 g Firm Tofu
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tsp Honey
- 1 Tsp Chilli Powder
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- For the Salad
- 1/2 Iceburg Lettuce (Shredded)
- 2 Carrots (Grated)
- 2 Spring Onions (Diced)
- 1 Capsicum (Sliced)
- 1/2 bunch Coriander (Chopped)
- For the Dressing
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 4 Tsp Honey
- 1 Tsp Crushed Garlic
- 1 Tsp Crushed Ginger
- 1/2 Tsp Chilli Flakes
- 1/2 Tbsp Chilli Oil / Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
- 3/4 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
- For the Garnish - 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds Toasted
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 oC Fan Forced.
- Line 1 large baking tray with baking paper for the Tofu and 1 small tray with baking paper for the Sesame Seeds.
- Shred Tofu using the largest holes on a cheese grater.
- In a large bowl, mix all of the Tofu seasoning together (Soy, Sesame Oil, Honey, Chilli Powder and Garlic Powder). If you don't want the recipe to be as spicy remove the Chilli Powder.
- Add the shredded Tofu to the bowl with the seasoning and toss until covered. Then spread out on the large baking tray in a thin layer (you may need more than one baking tray to ensure a thin layer).
- Bake the Tofu for 30mins, mixing every 15mins. Bake until the Tofu is crispy and browned. It make take longer depending on how wet your Tofu is.
- Place the Sesame Seeds on a baking tray and once the Tofu is finished, place them in the oven to cook for 5 - 10 mins. These bake very quickly, so keep an eye on them. Once browned remove from oven.
- While the Tofu is baking, assemble the salad ingredients together and toss (Lettuce, Carrot, Capsicum, Spring Onion and Coriander). Place on your serving dish.
- Mix all of the salad dressing ingredients in a jar and shake to combine (Sesame Oil, Soy Sauce, Rice Wine Vinegar, Honey, Gralic, Ginger, Chilli Flakes, Chilli Oil, and Smoked Paprika). Set aside.
- Once the Tofu has finished baking, top the salad with the warm mixture. Then drizzle the salad dressing over the Tofu and Salad, then sprinkle the baked Sesame Seeds over the top.
- Serve warm or cooled and Enjoy!
